He is a laparoscopic colorectal surgeon and colorectal oncosurgeon who is attached to Breach Candy, Jaslok / Saifee, Hinduja (Khar) and Global Hospital Mumbai
He has been instrumental in setting up the pelvic floor center and intestinal failure unit at Jaslok hospital
He has finished his MBBS from Seth GS medical college Mumbai and post-graduation (MS) at LTMMH hospital. After completing his basic training he left for the UK where is specialized in colorectal surgery over a period of 10 years. He has extensively trained to be able to tackle all types of colorectal diseases
He was a consultant at St. Helens and Knowsley hospital Liverpool where he was the clinical lead for promoting laparoscopic colorectal work and pelvic floor work.
He brings with him 10 years of experience in colorectal surgery in the UK and 7 years now in India
His special interest is inflammatory bowel disease, pelvic floor, and bowel cancer and complex fistulas
He believes in evidence-based medicine and all patients are treated with the latest available technology and evidence
He is also an honorary at Sion hospital and medical college where he teaches students do deal with complex perianal work including complex fistulas
He now has experience of treating more than a thousand patients with fistulas over the last 10 years and performing more than 100 laparoscopic colorectal resections for bowel cancer.
